DeskBar

Most Windows users take advantage of the Start menu and desktop in order to access applications and Windows features. The problem is that when having too many icons on your desktop, it may be really difficult to access a certain program or task. The same goes for the Start menu. Putting your desired icons on the taskbar is not such a good idea, because the space provided by the taskbar is very limited and doesn't allow you to put too many icons.

A much better idea for accessing your applications is to use DeskBar. This simple Windows program adds a floating bar on your screen, just above the taskbar, which allows you to access all your desired programs and tasks with ease. The program bar can be displayed on top of any other window, allowing you to easily access your desired applications, no matter how many windows are opened on your screen.

By default, the most common Windows tasks and tools are added to the bar, but the user can easily add his desired applications, by accessing the settings area of DeskBar. Using the settings window, one can also configure the application to start together with Windows and to stay above other applications, for being easier to access the bar icons. What's more, the position of the bar can be customized.

Unfortunately, there is no way to position the bar on the middle of the screen, just in the upper or lower part of your desktop. A hot key can be configured, for displaying or hiding the bar.
